Life as an Artist

Being an Artist is not smoking cigarettes, wearing a beret and drinking coffee. Besides physically making the art, you are marketing and maintaining a website (especially in 2021). You are also traveling to whatever venue that will allow you to sell your art.

Back to the making art part, it is constantly switching from what you know will sell to what new items can I decorate or make? I am constantly examining what is being used in our kitchen and what new item would I want. Especially when I have customers who I see almost weekly who ask, What is new this week? That question has pushed me to have an answer every week.

There is also the safety of what is selling, making what you have been- to pushing yourself to try something new. How much time are you willing to put into this new idea that might test your skills and cause you stress but at the same time fuel your creativity?
