What is it that you have always wanted to do? A job that does not feel like a job. Not that it is not hard work or frustrating at times, but it is satisfying. It feeds your creativity. I love seeing people who fall in love with pottery. They just have to have it. Every morning when I choose my coffee mug it brings a smile to my face seeing all the handmade mugs in the cabinet. At dinner, I will also pick through the stack of plates to get the right one that goes with the meal. The one that compliments the food, either with the shape of the plate or the color. I listen when people are shopping at art shows and watch what they touch. It is so exciting to have someone fall in love with something you made. I hand paint all the decorations on the pots with glaze and stain. It goes into the kiln. There is always a wonder of how is it going to turn out. You sit and wait while it fires and cools. It is like being a child waiting for Christmas morning.
